Jones, Benjamin Earl

Benjamin Earl Jones, infant son of the Rev. Timothy and Christine Jones, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, at Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton, with the Rev. Joshua Reimche officiating, and at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson, Iowa, with the Rev. Lindsey Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson City Cemetery.

Benjamin, and his twin brother, Elijah, were born Feb. 29, in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to Timothy and Christine Bergmann Jones. Although his life on this earth was brief he profoundly affected the hearts and lives of his family and caregivers. He is now safe in the arms of Jesus where he lives eternally.

Benjamin is survived by his parents, Christine and the Rev. Timothy Jones (who formerly served St. Paul Lutheran Church of Bennett and recently moved to Jefferson, Iowa), and their children, Karl, Joanna and Elijah; maternal grandparents, Peter and Maureen Bergmann of St. Francis, Minn., and Earl and Marlys Jones of Hayward, Wis.; maternal great-grandfather, Rudolph Huehn of Minnesota; aunts, Pam Barrick, Tina Callison and Megan Leon; and uncles, Chad Bergmann, Timothy Bergmann, Jeff Jones, Daniel Jones and Matthew Jones.
