Jones, Antoniette DePardo
Antoniette DePardo Jones of Cedar Rapids finished her final journey through life on Monday, April 11, 2011. There will be no services or visitation according to her wishes. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Toni was born Nov. 18, 1946, to Tony and Margaret DePardo in Ottumwa, Iowa. She married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Jim Jones, on Aug. 6, 1966, in Agency, Iowa. They lived in different places for the first 13 years and finally came to Cedar Rapids in 1979. Toni was a medical transcriptionist at Mercy Medical Center and St. Luke's Hospital as well as at Oncology Associates. She retired in 2010. Toni was a caring person, giving of herself to everyone she knew.
She shared her life with her husband, Jim, and a family of pets named Rudy, Sparky, Mandy and Miky. They were always at her side. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed many activities, including archery, fishing, camping and golf.
Toni was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul and Dean; and a sister, Mary Kearny.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; a sister, Susan (Jim) Graham of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Shirley DePardo of Davenport; family friends, Todd and Cindy Barnes, and two godsons, Jack and Tom Barnes, from Indiana. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Toni handled whatever came to her and embraced life to the fullest measure. We will miss her. May she rest in the peace she so richly deserves.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
