Jon William Gustaveson, 37, chose to end his suffering by taking his own life on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2022, following a lifelong battle with mental illness.
Jon was born Dec. 14, 1984, to Craig and Roxanne (Hammond) Gustaveson.
He is survived by his parents of Iowa City; two brothers, Michael Gustaveson (Amanda Samuelson) of Iowa City and Scott (Theresa) Gustaveson of Cedar Rapids; two nephews; and extended family.
A private family gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Jon’s name to NAMI Johnson County, www.namijc.org.
