Joleen Mae McCrary,
67, of Traer and Longville, Minn., passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer with Father Ray Atwood as celebrant. Interment will follow at Buckingham Cemetery in Traer. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the church.
Joleen was born on Jan. 29, 1948, in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Vernon and Leona (Yuska) Krezek. She graduated from North Tama High School in 1966. On Sept. 23, 1967, Joleen was united in marriage to Mark McCrary in Clutier. She had worked at Farm Credit Services in Traer and Waterloo and previously had worked at Stan Hladik's shoe store in Traer. Joleen was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer. She enjoyed her grandchildren, Morgan and Kaylee, and entertaining many friends and family at their lake home in Minnesota. Joleen also enjoyed fishing, boating and playing cards. She loved nature and observing God's creations. She was well known for her smile and friendly disposition.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Mark of Traer; one daughter, Tami (Tim) Kruse of Keystone; one son, Todd McCrary of Montezuma; two granddaughters, Morgan and Kaylee Kruse of Keystone; her father, Vernon Krezek of Clutier; one sister, Judy (Steve) Hook of Le Grand; one brother, Randy ( Judy) Krezek of Clutier; one nephew, Ryan (Carrie) Hook; two nieces, Jacey (Jason) Fischer and Jillisa (Chad) Halverson; and several aunts, uncles, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona Krezek, on Jan. 16, 2015.
A memorial fund has been established.
