Joleen Friederich, 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away, November 2, 2023. Visitation: 2 - 4 PM, Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Day, November 6, 2023, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Joleen was born on November 2, 1930, at home in Elkader, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Millie (Roeder) Staack. She graduated from Elkader High School where she was in Glee Club and Marching Band. She married Harold A. Friederich on September 6, 1949, in Elkader, Iowa. They had been married for 46 years when Harold passed away in 1995. They moved to Cedar Rapids in 1951. Joleen first worked at Collins Radio and then retired from W.R. Grace / Cryovac after 41 ½ years in 1995. She enjoyed knitting and giving to others. Joleen generously donated lap robes that she knitted to the VA along with scarves and headbands to elementary schools in the area.
Survivors include her son Allan Friederich, grandsons David (Kimberly) Friederich and Daniel Friederich, two great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Harold in 1995, and stepbrother Lowell (Mabel) Mueller.
