Estherville
Joleen Ardis Engebretson of Estherville, Iowa, passed away on Feb. 22, 2023, at Avera Holy Family Hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1952, to Warren B. "Shorty" Mortimore and Donna (Brix) Mortimore. Joleen graduated from Estherville High School in 1971. She married Michael S. Roberts and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Before moving back to Estherville, she married David Engebretson.
She worked at Forest Ridge Youth Services for many years making a positive influence on many lives before retiring.
She is survived by her mother, Donna (Brix) Mortimore; sister, Julie (Jim) Hansen; sister, Lill Herum (Jeff Hughes); son, Todd (Jennifer) Roberts; daughter, Tasha Roberts; and her three grandchildren, Frankie, Ella and Abi.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
