Johnson, Lindsey Merlean Purifoy
Lindsey Merlean Purifoy Johnson, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 42nd Street NE, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her mother, Deborah Covington; her brother, Jessie Purifoy; her son, Devan Purifoy; her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Covington; and her paternal grandmother, Reba Merle Rials.
Lindsey was preceded in death by her father, Gearld Purifoy; and her grandfather, Lyle Covington.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1975, in Denver, Colo. Lindsey had many gifts. She was a struggling artist and musician. Now her voice is free, joining the heavenly choirs. Lindsey also had the gift of storytelling. She was a prolific writer in many online writing groups. She attended Washington High School, Cedar Rapids.
