Johnson, Gerald E.
Gerald E. Johnson, 77, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, in Fredericksburg, Va., following a sudden illness. A Mass Of Christian Burial, with Father Brian Dellaert as celebrant, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Newhall, where friends may register from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Interment will be held at St. Patrick and St. Paul Cemetery in Watkins. Public visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone, where a Scripture service will begin at 7 p.m.
Mr. Johnson was employed by Kinze Manufacturing for many years and was member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Newhall.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Johnson; son, David Johnson and his wife, Tracey, of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Barbara Grasso and her husband, Dominic, of Fredericksburg, Va.; seven grandchildren, Blake, Alexis, Ana, Chase, Isabella and Ava Grasso and Brandon Kohl; and his four sisters, Betty Harbert, Doris Brown, Marlys Hopwood and Louise Sanders.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stephen Johnson; and one grandson, Giovanni Grasso.
