Johnson, Clarence A. 'Tiny'
Clarence A. “Tiny” Johnson, 79, of Ames, Iowa, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 after a long battle of cancer and other illnesses at home with his loving family by his side. Services:
2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel where a visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. The Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include four sons, Clifford Tiegen of Colorado, Duane Tiegen of California, Arnold Tiegen of Fort Madison, Iowa and Lyle Tiegen (Kathleen) of Ames; a daughter, Doris Tiegen of California; and two brothers, Dick (Joan) Johnson and Russell (Louise) Johnson, all of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Lylia, Mike, Crystal, Joe, Terese, Dan, Tom and John; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois Marie Johnson; sisters, Ione Alberts, Shirley Lacey; two brothers, Evin and Virgil Johnson; and a special niece, Stella Mullins.
Clarence's nickname was Tiny. He was born January 2, 1931. He married Lois Marie Jellison. She died in 1994. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was very proud to serve his country. He was a baker for Sykora Bakery in Cedar Rapids.
Memorials may be made to Israel Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
