Johnson, Clara E.
IOWA CITY - Clara E. Johnson, 95, of Iowa City, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at Lantern Park Care Center in Coralville. Funeral services will be held noon Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will take place at the Welsh Pioneer Cemetery.
Clara E. (Finke) Johnson was born Aug. 14, 1915, daughter of Roy and Singne (LindBloom) Finke. On Jan. 1, 1942, she married Alfred Johnson in Memphis, Mo. Clara was a member of the First Welsh Congregational Church as well as the Hawkeye Kennel Club. She had a great passion for dogs, breeding and raising many different breeds.
Clara's family includes her daughters, Virginia (Harold) Eden of Lone Tree and Pauline (Ernest) Dicks of Agency; son, Lloyd (Karen) Johnson of Iowa City; sister, Lucille Miller of Washington, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; brothers, Evert, William and Ellis; and sister, Alice Ahlming.
Memorial contributions may be made in Clara's name to the Hawkeye Kennel Club.
