Johnson, Alice E.
Alice E. Johnson, 85, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence after a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. today at Church of Christ United in Winthrop. Burial: Wilson Cemetery east of Independence. Visitation is at Fawcett Funeral Home, Winthrop, after 9:30 a.m. today at the church.
She is survived by six sons: David (Barbara) Cory of San Antonio, Texas, Donald Cory of Winthrop, Allen Cory of Winthrop, Ken (Sandy “Jean”) Johnson of Independence, Terry Johnson of Cedar Rapids, and Harold Johnson of Winthrop; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Adeline Rompot of Hiawatha; and three brothers, Ralph Hilmer of Phoenix, Ariz., Walter Hilmer of Marion, and Marvin Hilmer of Cincinnati, Ohio.
