John Richardson, 94, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at Buchanan County Health Center Long-Term Care in Independence. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Aurora Methodist Church. Burial: Madison Township
Cemetery, south of Aurora, with military graveside services by Palmer-Scharff American Legion Post of Aurora. Visitation: 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Velma of Independence; four daughters, Judy (Leslie) Becker of Lawtey, Fla., Josephine Schipper of Parkersburg, Jane (Charles) Watson of Hazleton and Jean (Fred) Hilker of Spokane, Wash.
