John Nathan Elderkin, 65, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at his home in Marion.
John's body has been
donated to The University
of Iowa, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Deeded Body Program for medical education and research. There are no services planned at this time. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion is assisting the family.
John was born on Nov. 22, 1955, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of John and Esther (Canfield) Elderkin. On July 31, 1976, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Eileen Jost, they later divorced. John was a retail sales person for many years. He enjoyed cooking, riding his bicycle, singing and loved his cat, "Princess Pooper." He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his former wife, Eileen Boulet of Marion; son, Brandon Elderkin of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Alexa Boulet of Marion; two granddaughters, Aubrey Gandy and Molly Boulet, both of Marion; a sister, Shelley McArthur of Utah; and two brothers, Dana McConnell and Arlen McConnell, both of Cedar Rapids.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
