John Ira Morehead, 88, of Marshalltown, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, officiated by Certified Celebrant Dr. Jim Coyle. A visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Interment with military honors will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
John is survived by three siblings, Mary Morgan Squires of Marion and Byron Morehead and Rose Davis, both of Cedar Rapids; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in John's name may be made to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown or the Wounded Warrior Project.
