John Manson, 60, of Anamosa, died at home on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022.
John was born in Independence, Iowa, on Nov. 2, 1961, the son of George and Claudia Manson. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1980 and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Coe College. John had a varied employment history including selling shoes at his parent’s shoe store, owning Overhead Door Co. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and finally becoming a legal assistant. He married Lori Bock on Oct. 20, 2012. John enjoyed woodworking, kayaking and taking care of his home. He loved watching various sports and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. He attended multiple Packers games over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Lori; Mom, Claudia Manson; sister, Jill (Doug) Henry; stepdaughter, Hannah Olson (Jon); mother-in-law, Katie Bock; nephew, Jordan Skilling (Crystal); and niece, Annie Skilling.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Manson.
A Celebration of Life will take place from 1 to
3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Sally’s On Broadway in Springville, Iowa.
