John Anthony Lenoch, 90, died peacefully at Mercy Hospice on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at St. Wenceslaus Church, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where a sharing of memories will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the recitation of the rosary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice or the charity of your choice.
John is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Sophia Garrett Lenoch; seven children, David (Bev) Lenoch, Cindy (Mike) Cummings, Kathy (Mike) Steffen, Frannie (Denny) Griffin, Susan Lenoch, Janet (Steve) Roe and Celia (Rick) Eckermann; 15 grandchildren, Katie DeMeulenaere, Andrea Beeson, Michelle Cummings, Marc Cummings, Bryan Steffen, Casey Steffen, Bridgette Meinhold, Scott Griffin, Tony Griffin, Kelly Anderson, Ben Mitchell, Nike Fleming, James Roe, Kacie Eckermann and Nile Eckermann; 21 great-grandchildren; his sister, Rita Krall; and sisters-in-law, Pat Lenoch and Kathryne Lenoch.
