John "Lee" O'Brien, 52, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Pastor David Raemisch will officiate at the services. Surviving are his wife, Marcia; his mother, Loretta Clary; six children, Alicia (Derik Thomas) O'Brien, Koree (Shawn Walker) O'Brien, Denise (Levi Miller) O'Brien, Bobbie Jo (Perry Ellison) Norton, Tommy (Alisha) Norton and Zachary (Mikkila White) Norton; 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Angie (Andy) Peters, Amanda (Jones); and two brothers, Terry Clary and Tony Clary.
He was preceded in death by his father and step father.
John Isaac Leon O'Brien was born Jan. 12, 1970, at Iowa City, Iowa. He was the son of John and Loretta Parker, O'Brien. Lee attended the Anamosa Community Schools. He worked as a mechanic and later at 7th St. Stone in Monticello. He married Marcia Norton on Aug. 14, 1993, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello. Lee enjoyed NASCAR, camping, riding motorcycles and snowmobiling.
