JOHN KRUMM
Cedar Rapids
John "Johnny" Krumm passed away Sept. 24, 2015, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born Dec. 4, 1945, to Donald and Dalphne Krumm. After high school, John joined the Army and served in the Vietnam War. After being honorably dis-charged, he worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation, Four Oaks Residential Treatment Center – which he found the most rewarding – and Midwest Janitorial Services.
We all knew Johnny as a sports authority with an encyclopedic knowledge of football, baseball, hockey and all sorts of other sports as well. His sense of humor made for great fun during drafts. He was always willing to trade players and take risks others would shy away from.
He thoroughly enjoyed the company of his friends at "The Club" at Donutland.
Left to cherish John's memory are his wife, Joan Krumm; six children, Ryan, Stephanie, Casey, Joe, Holly and Cheryl; a brother, Brian; a sister, Ginger; many nieces, nephews and grand-children; and his beloved dog, Revie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Eric, and a sister, Donna.
A celebration of life will be Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Veterans Memorial Stadium from 3 to 5 p.m.
Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.iowacremation.com under Obituaries.
