John Joseph Gallo Jr., 57, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021. A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Moose Lodge, 1820 West Post Rd., Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Joanna Gallo of Cedar Rapids; children, Dillon Gallo of Virginia, Randall (Brittni) Sheriff of Cedar Rapids, Joshua Moser of Cedar Rapids and Elizabeth Moser of Cedar Rapids; father, John Joseph Gallo Sr. of Cedar Rapids; and siblings, Debbie Gallo of Marion, Dan Gallo of Tennessee, Cherilyn Gallo of Washington and Justin Gallo of Maryland.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Willa (Sissy) Linn; stepfather, Bill Linn; and a brother, Jamie Gallo.
John Joseph Gallo Jr. was born Sept. 6, 1964, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John Joseph and Willa (Price) Gallo. John worked as an IT engineer for many years, most recently for Windstream Technologies. On Nov. 24, 2018, he married Joanna Bell in Cedar Rapids. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends living a genuine life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
