JOHN "JOHNNY" PATRICK MINOR
Cedar Rapids
John "Johnny" Patrick Minor, 52, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 2, 2018,
at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, following complications of a hit and run accident. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by the Rev. Christopher Podhajsky. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A vigil will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Johnny is survived by his mother, Patricia; brother, Jeff; two sisters, Judith (James) Strotman of Shell Rock and Marilynne (Don) Downey of Eagan, Minn.; and nephews and niece, Trace and Madison Minor and Zach and Josh Downey.
He was preceded in death by his father, John; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Johnny was born May 24, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Patricia O'Connor Minor. In 1983, he graduated from La Salle High School. He was a baker for Donutland and the Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee for many years.
Johnny was a loyal, hardworking man, who had a good sense of humor. He was very kind and well-liked. He loved music and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, for saving his life many times following his accident. Johnny's family and friends meant the world to him and he will be greatly missed.
