John “Jack” Lewis Walderbach, 90, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A public visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29 from 5 to 7pm at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 30 at 1 pm at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
John was born December 18, 1933, in Anamosa, Iowa. He was the son of William Henry and Teresa (Fluckiger) Walderbach. John graduated from Anamosa High School. He served his country during the Koren conflict. John was united in marriage to Roberta Ann Stratton in Anamosa, and they would have celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on November 18. John worked 20 years in maintenance at Quaker Oats, retiring in January 1999.
John and Roberta were blessed with four daughters, Kathy (Ken) Gourley, Sheryl Nelson, Renay (Scott) Evans, and Patricia Jared. Over the years they also welcomed seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
The family wishes to send thanks to Melinda, our visiting angel, as well as the UnityPoint Hospice team for their comforting support.
John was a very special man who was loved by his family and friends. He always prioritized everyone before himself. His lap dog, Scooter, is already lost without him.
