John "Jack" Buehner, 75,
of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home by Chaplain Joe Kane. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Kenneth (Anne) and Patrick (Cyndi); daughter, Lisa (Larry) Pinckney, all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Rhonda (Dale) Huntington; and aunt, Arlene Pennington.
John Edward Buehner was born Feb. 8, 1942, the son of Raymond and Clara Pennington Buehner in Burlington, Iowa. On Jan. 27, 1968, Jack married Jean Marie Donner in Cedar Rapids. He served in the U.S. Army for 30 years and later worked at Mount Mercy University for 19 years in maintenance, retiring in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wilmetta Golliday.
Jack enjoyed fishing and camping and spending time with his grandkids.
Jack's family would like to thank the Hospice of Mercy, especially Deb and Joe for their kindness and compassion.
