John H. “Jack” Glessner, passed peacefully from this world on Sunday July 7, 2024, at home, surrounded by family.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents,1 sister, and 2 sons-in-law.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joni; 4 children, Daniel (wife Debbie and 4 grandchildren); Deborah Seitz and 1 grandson; Julie Sanders Anderson and one granddaughter); Jackie Strait and 2 grandchildren; stepchildren Jill (Scott) Gunzenhauser and 2 grandchildren, and John (Sherry) Carpenter and 1 grandchild, plus 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Josie and brother Chuck (Arlo).
Jack will be remembered by all as one of the nicest guys on planet earth. Born in Cedar Rapids, he was inducted into the Iowa Bowler’s Hall of Fame and was one of the best left-handed bowlers in Iowa. Jack and Joni purchased the Lucky 6 Lanes in Marengo, Iowa where they made life-long friends. They moved to Branson in 1993 where Jack's passion became living on, loving and fishing Table Rock Lake.
Special thanks to son-in-law Scott for taking Jack fishing one last time just weeks before passing, his pastor, as well as nurses and staff at Access Hospice, Ozark, MO for their constant care and concern. A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date at Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Iowa. Condolences may be emailed to Joni at jonig3440@outlook.com.
