John Bernard Fox, 66, of Hiawatha, passed away Oct. 20, 2014, at his home, in Gardner, Kan. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kan. (913) 856-7111. Burial: 1:30 p.m., Leavenworth (Kan.) National Cemetery. Visitation, with Knights of Columbus ceremony: 10 a.m. before the service at the funeral home.

John was born Oct. 12, 1948, in Watertown, S.D., to Mary (Wranek) and Frank Fox. He was a Watertown High School graduate and earned his B.S. from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. John served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He recently moved to Gardner to be with his family.
John is survived by his daughter, Theresa Smith of Cedar Rapids; son, Robert John Fox of Gardner; eight grandchildren; brother, Vincent Fox; and sister, Joanne Wilkinson.
