John Edward Ekwall, 74, passed away early Wednesday morning, Sept. 28, 2016, in Iowa City, following a courageous battle with cancer.
An informal gathering celebrating John's life will be held Sunday, Oct. 2, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Parish Life Center at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty. A memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph.
