John Edwin Studt, 87, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away on Sept. 7, 2023. He was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and moved to Arkansas in 1991, after retiring from Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
John was a volunteer fire fighter in Mount Vernon. During his life he enjoyed spending time with family, camping, bowling and collecting souvenir playing cards while traveling. He liked working in his yard and was known for his elaborate Christmas light displays.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Mary (Hayes) Studt of Mount Vernon; sisters, MaryAnn Moon and Lorraine Schott; and brothers, Harold, Jacob (Junior), Vernon, Lawrence, David, Tom and infant Myron Studt.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Studt of Bentonville, Ark.; sons, Terry (Janice) Studt, Dennis (Mary) Studt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Kevin (Ellen) Studt of Washington; stepson, Mike Sebetka of Bentonville, Ark.; stepdaugther, Kathleen Sebetka of Maryland; three brothers, Sam, Mike (Deb) and LeRoy (Shirley) Studt; and one sister, Kathy King (Dennis). John has eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Methodist Church in Mount Vernon.
