John E. Wingler, 69, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. No services are planned at this time. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
John was born August 4, 1955, in Riverside, Iowa, the son of Clayton and Joyce (Teslik) Wingler. He served honorably in the United States Air Force. John was united in marriage to Laura Sue Wingler on May 24, 1980, at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. He dedicated his career to serving as a rural mail carrier in Riverside with the United States Postal Service, a role he held until his retirement. In his free time, John enjoyed fishing, but above all, he treasured spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Laura Wingler of Cedar Rapids; sons, Daniel Wingler of North Liberty, Iowa, and Brian (Ashley) Wingler of Washington, Iowa; grandchildren, Dillan Wingler and Rowan Wingler; and sister, Kathyrn Lindhorst of Riverside.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
