John Thomas Dunn, 60, of Cedar Rapids, died Sat-urday, June 21, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from a head injury suffered in an accidental fall at home. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Chris-topher Podhajsky. Inurnment: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements are by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Mildred Dunn, and father, Dr. Justin C. Dunn, both of Cedar Rapids; brothers, David (Julie) Dunn of Virginia and Greg (Wendy) Dunn of Cedar Rapids; and four nieces and nephews, Robert Dunn, Whitney (Eliot) Weiner, Jason Dunn and Lisa (Justin) Worrell.
John was born Dec. 27, 1953, in San Diego, Calif., the son of Justin and Mildred (Golinvaux) Dunn. He attended Regis High School and graduated from Washington High School. John went on to earn his sociology degree from Mount Mercy College. He loved fishing, hockey and spending time with his family.
John was a loving and caring son who watched over his mother for many years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James, and an infant sister, Mary.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
