"Big John" McGaffic, 68, of Royse City, Texas, formerly of Springville, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, in Rowlett. He was born on Aug. 6, 1953, in New Castle, Pa., to Paul McGaffic and Helen Clements McKillip. John married Mary Russell on June 4, 1988, in Josephine, Texas. He worked as the sheet metal man at General Dynamics. He enjoyed racing, fishing, hanging out in the shop, fixing things, and being Papa John.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; brothers, Greg McGaffic of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Jim McGaffic of Marion, Iowa; daughter. Tonya McGaffic Lehman of Marion; son, Adam McGaffic of Royse City; grandson, Jordan Lehman; granddaughters, Brooke Lehman, Lucylle McGaffic and Alanna McGaffic; along with many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Hellen McKillip and Paul McGaffic; and sister, Amy McGaffic Randall.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
