JOHN D. ASHMORE

John D. Ashmore, 66, of Iowa City and formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018.
John was born on May 23, 1952, to John H. and Kathryn Ashmore in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. John graduated from Washington High School in 1969. John worked for Linn Co-op for 15 years and later retired from PMX Industries in 2010.
John shared his passion for the outdoors and trout fishing with his son. John was a devoted Eric Clapton fan and enjoyed grilling, barbecue and listening to his favorite blues musicians.
John is survived by his son, Dustin (Tracy) Ashmore of Amana, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
