John Cecil Frimml, 83, of Belle Plaine, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at his home.
Celebration of Life will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, with a time of sharing at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be made at www.hrabakfuneralhome.com. Burial will be held at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
John Cecil, the son of Cecil and Luella (Stallman) Frimml, was born Jan. 11, 1934. He was a graduate of Norway High School. Following school, John served in the U.S. Army. On Nov. 30, 1957, he was married to Susan Newton. Together the couple farmed in rural Blairstown until moving to Belle Plaine in the early 90s. Along with farming, John was an elevator manager in Hartwick, Iowa, until his retirement in 2015.
He enjoyed farming, listening to Barefoot Becky's accordion music, polka dances and finding good deals at local auctions.
John is survived by his children, Steve (Carla), Stacy (Ken), Jean (Steve), Joseph, Marcia (JR), Mary (Kadhum) and John Jr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob, Jane, Luann, Marcia, Sandy, Richard and Dave; and many more loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, James; brother, Bill; and sisters, Margaret and Mary.
