John Capuano, 64, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at The Bird House Hospice in Iowa City. There will be no service.
Survivors include his sister, Faith (Lyman) Ring; his father, Lloyd Stevers; nephews, Brian (Angie) Ring and Christopher (Audrey) Ring; and nieces, Melissa (Nik) Schroeder, Raven Butteris and Jacqueline Butteris.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Stevers; sister, Patty Jo Butteris; brother-in-law, Charles Butteris; and niece, Jolene Butteris.
John was born Nov. 30, 1952, in Galveston, Texas. While growing up in Chicago, John learned to play the guitar and the love of music stayed with him all of his life.

John's family would like to express their gratitude to everyone at The Bird House Hospice in Iowa City. He couldn't have been in a more peaceful place for his last days here on earth. The family also wishes to thank Iowa City Hospice, Angelicka Kieffer and Jared Swartzendruber for their kindness and dedication to John.
