John Dean Burt, 86, of 3723 Old Orchard Rd. NE, died Thursday, March 30, 2017.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; and two sons, Thomas of Cedar Rapids and Matthew of Boston.
He was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Osceola, Iowa, to John and Venice (Everly) Burt, and married Lois A. Scrivner on Aug. 18, 1957, in Carson, Iowa. He retired from Defense Contracts after 26 years of service and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother, Donald.
He was a longtime supporter of programs to help disadvantaged people and wildlife habitat.
