John "Bobby" Robert Monahan II, 48, passed away early Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, with his dog, Jessie, by his side.
John "Bobby" Robert Monahan II was born July 1, 1968, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to parents John and Adeline (Hoss) Monahan. One of nine children, he graduated from Jefferson High School. Bobby was married to Kelly McDowel in June 1989; they later divorced. They had three children together, Michelle (Cody), Ashley (Trent) and John (Rachel); and five grandchildren, Peyton, Paxton, Preston, Paysia and Brantley "Elmo." Bob later met Tina VanDerMillen at Whirlpool. After four years of chasing each other, they finally married on Aug. 2, 2015, and added to his family four children, Toni (Tony), John (Holly), Alexis and Dallas; and three grandchildren, Maddi, Kira and Tyson.
Bobby loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, boating and working on this truck. He also was a diehard Bears fan.
He loved his wife, his kids, his grandkids and his dog, Jessie.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents.
Bobby also is survived by his wife; his children; his siblings, Maureen (John) Cordovan, Colleen Monahan, Bret Monahan, Joe Monahan, Dawn Feuchtwanger, Gloria Monahan, Dale Monahan and Becky Chiafos, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
