Joeann Quint Jarosik, 93, of Marion, Iowa, passed away with her family by her side on March 14, 2024, at Northbrook Care Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 4 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the funeral home, with an additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Delhi, Iowa. The family requests that you please dress casual.
Joeann was born June 23, 1930, in Delaware, Iowa, the daughter of John H. and Effie (Persson) Pulver. She graduated from Delhi High School in 1947 and went on to obtain her nursing degree. On November 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to Ernest “Ernie” Quint in Delhi, Iowa. The couple had three children. Ernie passed away on May 11, 2008. Joeann was the bookkeeper for Modern Piping in Cedar Rapids for 43 years, until her retirement in 2013. She married Richard “Dick” Jarosik on June 16, 2012, in Hastings, Nebraska. He passed away on October 9, 2016. Joeann was a charter member of NAWIC. She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing cards, and visiting casinos, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Bob (Barb) Quint of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Kathy (Steve) Enabnit of Central City, Iowa; son-in-law, Bud McFadden; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many step great and grandchildren; brother, Swede Pulver; and brothers-in-law, Charlie Hempstead and Jim Tharp.
Joeann was preceded in death by her parents, John and Effie Pulver; her husbands, Ernest “Ernie” Quint and Richard “Dick” Jarosik; her daughter, Margie McFadden; siblings, Sonny, Jeanette, Jackie, and Jeri; and a stepson.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. James Bell and the UnityPoint Palliative Care and Hospice team for the care shown to Joeann and her family.
