Joe M. Zajicek, 96, lifetime resident of this area, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Lantern Park Care Center in Coralville after a long illness.
His family includes his wife, Gloria; daughter, Joyce Stochl and her husband, David, of Iowa City; son, John Zajicek and his wife, Cassandra, of Carbondale, Colo.; five grandchildren, Christopher Stochl (Madalena), Angela Burgess (Gary), Matthew Zajicek, Andrew Zajicek and Eleanor Cleverly; and four great-grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a son, George R. (Rusty) Zajicek.
Instead of flowers, Joe's family requests memorial tributes be made to Iowa City Hospice or First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City.
Private family graveside services will be at Oakland Cemetery in Solon on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
