Jody C Lawson
Jody C Lawson
Cedar Rapids
Jody C Lawson, 49, passed unexpectedly Saturday, July 27, 2024, at his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was born February 21, 1975, in Denver City, Texas to Charles and Kathey Lawson.
Jody is survived by his Wife Shelley Lawson of Iowa, Son Johnathon (Rachel) Lawson of Texas, Mother Kathey Lawson of Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his Father and best friend Charles Lawson.
Jody loved family, friends and his dogs, growing up with his siblings, Larry (Melissa) Lawson, Linda (Todd) Eubanks, Misty (Brian) Rogers, Amanda Lawson. Along with many cherished Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Grand Children.
Jody loved spending time outdoors. It was not unusual to find Jody spending time with the grand kiddos and dogs at the park. He also enjoyed many hours of fishing and went every chance he got.
Jody also liked to cook. He would brag about having the best chili every and he even proved it by winning a chili cook-off contest at his church. More than his chili, Jody loved a good friend and family get-together featuring a large gumbo and/or crawfish boil he sometimes spends days preparing for.
You always knew when Jody was in the room, and he greeted everyone with his favorite thing to say: What’s Up Slick. Jody will be greatly missed, as we look forward to a grand reunion.
A Service will be held Aug. 24, 2024, at The Sanctuary Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at 11:00 am, with a luncheon immediately following service.
