JoAnn Schminkey, 79, of Independence, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, Cornerstone Foursquare Church, Independence.
She is survived by nine children, 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Schminkey.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
JoAnn was born Feb. 22, 1941. She married the love of her life in December 1961. She enjoyed puzzles, being a mom and a grandma, and most of all spending time with family.
