JoAnn L. Murray, of Marshalltown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at Iowa River Hospice Home,
Marshalltown. Memorial services for JoAnn will be at

JoAnn Anderson was born in Williams, Iowa, on May 19, 1933, to Hans "Fred" Anderson and Cecelia Franklin Anderson. She lived in Marshalltown most her life and graduated from high school in 1951. On May 11, 1957, JoAnn was united in marriage to Jack "LeRoy" Nicholson and had two daughters together, Vickie and Debbie. She later married Robert Murray, who passed in 1977.
JoAnn worked at Marshalltown Manufacturing Co. for 26 years and was active in the Local 893 UAW, Hellberg's Jewelers and Ben Franklin. She also was a member of First United Methodist Church, Marshalltown.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Vickie Jo (Rick) Jackson and Debbie (Roque) Pinheiro; grandchildren, Jeremy (Andrea) Lynch, Blake (Jen) Brady, Brooke Brady, Roque Pinheiro and Cody Pinheiro; great- granddaughters, Jordyn Lynch, Jenika Lynch, Dallas Lynch and Bailey Brady; and one great-grandson,
Jaekson Brady. She also is survived by her siblings, David (Sherry) Anderson, Donna (Larry) Loney, Deb (Jim) Worrall, Sharon Manley and Janice Anderson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Murray; parents, Hans and Cecelia Anderson; brothers, John Anderson, Ed Anderson and Fred Anderson; and sisters, Barb Dighton, Mary Jensen, Betty Hill and Dianna Floyd.
