Joan Yvonne Ettinger, 94, died peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 4 PM at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 4 PM. Burial will be at Mount Hope Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the League of Women Voters and Planned Parenthood.
Joan was born on May 19, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Leroy and Marie (Miller) Armstrong. She married Ellis Duane Ehrstine on May 20, 1950. Ellis died in 2001. On August 16, 2002, Joan married Marlin Haines Ettinger. Marlin died in 2010.
Joan and her daughter, Linda Marie, moved to the Iowa City area in 2022.
Joan is survived by her two children, Glenn Ehrstine (Elizabeth Heineman) of Iowa City and Linda Marie Ehrstine of Coralville, and grandson Julian Ehrstine.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and her brother Rodney Armstrong.
