Joan C. Wonick, 67, longtime resident of the Iowa City area, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at the Simpson Home in West Liberty. There will be a time of visitation on Wednesday, March 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joan's memory.

Joan Carol Stallfort was born Jan. 30, 1947, in Camden, N.J., the daughter of William and Alba (Wil-kerson) Stallfort. As a child her family moved to Iowa, where she had lived in the Iowa City area for many years. She married James F. Wonick on May 15, 1965, in Coralville. She had worked for a number of different businesses in the area over the years: Charcoal's, various Five & Dime stores, dietary department at the Iowa City VA Health Care System, longtime Avon distributor and for many years in the parking division for the City of Iowa City.
She was an avid bowler, belonging to many leagues in this area. She had been a member of the Eagles Lodge and Moose.
Her family includes her husband, Jim; son and his wife, Bryan and Kristy Wonick; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Sharon Strabala, Miriam Stallfort and Gina Reuter.
