Joan Roberts, 78, of Cedar Rapids, born Aug. 30, 1938, in Worlund, Wyo., passed peacefully in her sleep on March 13, 2017, in Cedar Rapids due to health complications. She joins her parents, Robert and Freda Cole.
Surviving are two sisters, Bonnie and Roberta; a daughter, Pam (James) Brecht; three grandchildren, Daniel (Mary) of Virginia and Robert and Benjamin of Cedar Rapids; and her beloved cat, Annie.
Joan loved music, the theater, books and politics. She always had a joke or good story to tell.
Celebration of Life will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Mother's Day, May 14, at the Zoo Hill Pavillion (top of the hill), Bever Park pool entrance.
