Joan Dawn Jansen, 53, of Marion, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Joan was born May 25, 1962, the daughter of Tonya Egan in Arlington, Va., and later adopted by Wesley and Leona Franks of Marion. She was married to Randy Beadle on Dec. 1, 1979. They later parted ways in 2005. She then met Brian Jansen in August 2008 and they married on July 5, 2013. Joan worked as a route coordinator for Linn Star Transfer. She had many collections including Precious Moments, Build-a-Bear and Winnie the Pooh. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidery and crafts. Joan had an avid love for dolphins. More than anything she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Brian Jansen; four sons, Adam Beadle, Brian Beadle, Kyle Beadle and Blake Beadle; stepson, Kyler Jansen; and two sisters, Mary Lou Pauba and Nancy Kalina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and father-in-law, Bruce.
