Joan Helen (Popelka) Croft, 88, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, passed away peacefully, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa, Nov. 10, 2021, with her children by her side.
Joan was born April 20, 1933, to Joseph and Helen (Lahodny) Popelka in rural Vining, Iowa. She attended Chelsea school through eighth grade when her family moved to Belle Plaine. Joan graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1950. She met her future husband, Scott Croft Jr. at the local roller rink. They were married April 20, 1953, in the Little Brown Church. She was a homemaker and raised five wonderful children.
Joan enjoyed reading, crosswords, puzzles and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her children, Debbie Croft of Grand Island, Neb., Randy (Kris) Croft of Springville, Diane (Bill) Weber of Holiday Lake, Denise (Larry) Weeda of Belle Plaine, Scott (Julie) Croft of Belle Plaine; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pat Popelka of Story City; and many nieces, nephews and a good friend, Sandy Stratton of Marengo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Scott (1997); and siblings, Gertrude, Melvin, Roland, (Poe) and Jim.

Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, with Pastor Tom Peterson officiating. Service will also be livestreamed through the funeral service Facebook page. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Koszta Cemetery, Koszta, Iowa.
