Joan E. Williams, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Joan was born on November 21, 1932, in Vinton, Iowa, to Howard and Imogene (York) Matters. After graduating high school, she married Robert Karl Williams on July 14, 1950, in Vinton. She dedicated herself to creating a loving home and raising her family.
Survivors include her children, Mike Williams of Brandon, Iowa, Vicki (Mark) Grindle of Surprise, Arizona, and Tina Busness of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Robert, Arleen, Chris, Steve, Rob, Kevin, Nicole, Amber, and Nicole; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Duane Matters of Massachusetts.
She was preceded by her parents, Howard and Imogene Matters; husband, Robert Williams; son, Pat Williams; and sister, Judy Elwick.
