Jim Cunningham, 67, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, after a lingering illness.
He was born in Prairie du Chien, Wis., on March 16, 1949, to Anita and Ron Cunningham. He attended schools in Prairie du Chien and Garnavillo, Iowa, before graduating from Starmont High School near Strawberry Point in 1967. After graduation, he held several jobs locally before moving to Arizona, where he remained.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Shirley Cunningham of Glendale, Ariz., Betty Sands of Bettendorf and Mary Jane Keppler Cole (Terry) of Elkader; his stepbrothers, Mark (Betty) Keppler of Elkader, Dan (Nancy) Keppler of Strawberry Point, Chuck (Ruth) Keppler of Fayette and Bob (Diane) Keppler of Strawberry Point; and stepsisters, Mary (Tom) Weber of Volga and Janet (Tom) Thompson of Rockwell, Iowa.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ron and Anita Keppler; his stepfather, Ray Keppler; his infant sister, Sharon; his stepbrothers, Tom, LaVerne and Terry Keppler; and stepsister, Shirley Cisna.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Burial will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa.
