Jill A. Collum
Plymouth, Minn.
Jill Ann Collum, beloved mother, daughter, sister and aunt, left us too early and unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022. Jill was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was full of joy and had a great passion for helping others. She was always swift to lend her experience as a nurse to family and strangers alike.
Born in Worthington, Minn., Jill grew up in New Brighton and graduated from Irondale High School. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the Grand View University of Des Moines, Iowa. On Dec. 14, 2002, she married Chris Collum in the historic chapel on the University of Northwestern campus in St. Paul. She worked for many years at Unity Hospital in Fridley, leaving her passion for nursing aside to focus on her greatest passion, her son Aaron who joined their family in 2010. Her love for Chris and Aaron were absolute and she was always quick to love, wrestle and make them laugh.
She is survived by her husband, Chris; son, Aaron; mother and father, Larry and Susan Loeschen; sister, Amy (John); mother-in law, Terry; aunts, Linda (Bill) and Janice; and 16 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and fraternal grandparents; her aunt, Juanita; and father-in-law, Tom.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Jill’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. at the Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 15800 37th Ave. North, Plymouth, Minn.
