Jerry M. Stocker, 72, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Eddyville, died 8:55 a.m. June 17, 2014, at Manor
Care in Cedar Rapids.
He was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Ottumwa to Versal Art and Gertrude Luella Locke Stocker. He married Mary Reed on Sept. 26, 1981, in Fairfield.
Jerry was a 1959 graduate of Ottumwa High School and served with the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He worked for Lund International for 33 years.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 788 in Cedar Rapids and American Legion Post 0671 in Swisher.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; a son, Brian Tully of Ottumwa; a daughter, Stacy Yochum of Eldon; four grandchildren, Thane Tully, Seth Yochum, Cyrus Yochum and Ciera Young; and a great-granddaughter, Ella Jade Tully.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Lori Lynn Stocker; two sisters, Betty Noe and Beverly Evans; and a brother, Beryl Stocker.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
Cremation will follow the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Eddyville Fire and Rescue.
