Jerry R. Steenblock, 75, of Marshalltown, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Private family services will be held at a later date. Anderson Funeral Home, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown, has been entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; a son, John (Maria) of Ely; a son, Brian (Lupe) of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Mary of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Frank; his mother, Jennie; his brother, Doug; his brother, Jim; and his brother, David (Bud).
Jerry was born Dec. 15, 1940, in Ocheyedan, Iowa. He was raised in Rock Rapids. He married Joan Kaiser on June 3, 1961. Jerry was in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hornet from 1958 to 1961. Jerry was a senior manufacturing engineer at Amana Refrigeration until he retired in 1993. He enjoyed woodworking and flying radio- controlled aircraft.
