Jerry Lee Meek, 63, of Cedar Rapids, passed away May 4, 2017, after a long illness. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Christ Church Presbyterian, 2000 First Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends at a reception at the church immediately following the service. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen Meek; son, Derek Meek; daughter-in-law, Trudy Meek; granddaughter, Ceridwen Meek; half brother, James Meek; half sister, Donna Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerrald Meek; two infant brothers; four half sisters; two half brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was born Jan. 9, 1954, the son of Louis and Madeline (Weckmann) Meek, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was baptized at First Lutheran Church of Cedar Rapids on May 30, 1998. Jerry loved his boys, cats, dogs, classic cars, gardening and camping.
